[Now w/More Photos] APD Captures Fleeing Suspect

At 7:25 a.m. this morning, an Arcata Police officer saw a man driving a suspected stolen vehicle on Hwy 101. According to an APD spokesperson, the man took the Sunset offramp, jumped out of his vehicle and fled across the freeway on the overhead. For the next two hours, officers attempted to locate the man. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.

At about 8:40 A.M., Robert Dale Ganfield, age 24 of McKinleyville, was taken into custody. He had several felony warrants for theft and drug related charges.
