Manila Open House Bike and Walk Talk

caltransCALTRANS AND HUMBOLDT COUNTY TO DISCUSS NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS IN MANILA

WHAT: Caltrans and Humboldt County Public Works are co-sponsoring a community open house on Wednesday, April 8, to discuss opportunities for improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities in Manila. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit feedback on alternatives that may be considered in an application for funding in the upcoming cycle of the Active Transportation Program. Alternatives under consideration along Route 255 include a separated bike path, colorized and widened shoulders, and additional street lighting. In addition, Humboldt County is working with the Redwood Community Action Agency to identify potential improvements along county roads that would enhance safety and access for biking and walking to Redwood Coast Montessori School at the Manila Community Resource Center. The open house begins at 5:00 pm, with a presentation starting at 5:30 pm.
