Live one street over and my wife can’t get home from work because street is blocked off by several police cars. This website is only site mentioning anything about this (thank you!!) Updates on this situation would be awesone.
Scanner info sounds like law enforcement may be opening up the block soon. Listen to the scanner here. http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/ctid/194/web
Thanks Kym
Matt O. .is that you? We had a CR class together?!
You guys are still around the corner from me?!
No problem. I hope your wife is home safely soon. You did see where two are in custody?
Yup. That is great! Book em dano.
She is home. Thanks for all the updates, she was checking em too on her phone. Looking forward to the pics…
Glad to hear that! Thanks for letting me know. Does that mean that the roadblocks have been all cleared?
Get the criminals!!!
Wonder what lead to this situation?
She went around to hiller, and there was no road block, but police presence was still there. Looked like they were having a chat.
[…] Oliver Cory, our reporter was on the spot as law enforcement took the suspects from tonight’s alleged home invasion on Ocean Avenue in McKinleyville into custody. (See more information here.) […]
Officers just came to my house asking to search my yard. They said they were looking for a rifle one of the suspects possibly ditched. One of the officers told me they caught all 3 suspects, but at the road block (45 mins earlier) I was told there were 4 suspects, so I’m not sure if the search is over.
According to scanner traffic (which can be confusing I admit,) there were only three subjects. Scanner traffic indicated that there was a missing AR15 that officers were looking for.
Awesome, thanks Kym! It was so intense I forgot how to spell my name.
Snort! Both Oliver and I are a little amped up, too!
Tami, yes it is me. I guess we are still neighbors. Good to hear from you. Nothing like a little craziness in the hood. Stoked they caught em.
now the dude is on the McK Community Watch Facebook page telling how HE was the one with the AR defending his home. Gun nuts’ home got invaded, they and their friends have photos of themselves with the geese and deer they’ve killed, and some charming videos of hot chicks shooting guns. Totally reinforces my long-held view from when I lived on Dow’s Prairie that guns are what thieves are after – they’d walk past my house with our unlocked doors and “Peace is Patriotic” sticker on the garage and go to the gun collectors’ houses to steal their handguns. If you have guns, best not to flaunt it I say. Especially not on Facebook where the whole dang world can see.
Great reporting Kym! You probably kept a lot of people last night out of harm’s way! THANKS!!!
I hope so.
