Man on Probation Searched, Meth and Marijuana Found

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and the individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 03-22-2015, at approximately 11:50 a.m., a Sheriff’s Sergeant with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was conducting foot patrol in the downtown Garberville area. The Sergeant was walking through the Ray’s Food Place parking lot (875 Redwood Dr.) when he observed Dennis Hicks standing next to a parked vehicle. The Sergeant knew from prior investigations that Hicks is on local probation with a search and seizure clause.

The Sergeant searched Hicks and located 2.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine on his person. A subsequent search of the vehicle Hicks was associated with yielded a glass methamphetamine pipe, approximately 15 pounds of marijuana, and other items used to produce concentrated cannabis.IMG_0573

Hicks was placed under arrest and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for booking. Hicks was booked for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, transportation of marijuana, possession of marijuana processing items, and violation of probation. His bail was set at $25,000.

It’s amazing what a person can see walking around Garberville. Drug dealers have had a free reign for far too long. A little bit of “medicine” is fine, but I think we all know when the line has been crossed.

The line was crossed long ago, this only goes to show how much town folk tolerate this sort of shady business in their own streets.
parents don’t feel good about their kids being exposed to this level of human decay, literally defecating in in our streets.
business owners are left with human bodies to climb over to open shop. Theft is uup and business owners are tired of it! There’s nothing here lucrative enough for homeless to just camp on hippie hill but the exchange of cheap drugs.
let’s continue to get the scum out, let decent folks live a semi normal town life already!
