Wade Harris Arrested in Arcata

Original post: Last night, Arcata Police again arrested Wade Daniel Harris who has been booked into the Humboldt County jail multiple times in the last several years. Detective Sgt. Todd Dokweiler of the APD explained that Monday night an officer with his department noticed a suspicious man loitering near a closed business on Guintoli Lane a little after 11 p.m.

When the officer attempted to contact the individual, the man fled on foot. “The officer gave chase,” said Dokweiler. After the officer caught up with the man, Dokweiler said, “They tussled a bit.”  (See photo above.) Wade Harris was ultimately arrested for probation violation and resisting arrest.

Harris has had multiple violations of probation as well as numerous arrests–nine since March of 2012. Dokweiler said that the District Attorney  will have to look at any pending charges against Harris that haven’t yet been adjudicated and decide whether to consolidate those cases or charge them separately.

UPDATE 3/6: Wade Harris was arrested at 11:14 p.m. on March 2. He was released on his own recognizance at 12:26 a.m. on the 3rd. He spent a little over an hour in custody and paid no bail money.
