TCSO: Man Stabbed During Burglary Identifies Suspect

Trinity County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at approximately 2:00 am the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an adult male calling from his residence on Center Street in Weaverville, CA. He advised the Dispatcher that he had returned home and had interrupted a burglary in progress at his residence on Center Street and that he had been stabbed in the abdomen with a knife.

Deputies responded to his residence and located the victim within the residence. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he received treatment for the stab wound and was released from the hospital.

Trinity County Sheriff Deputies were able to obtain a statement from the victim at the hospital who was able to give a description of the suspect. On Wednesday, September 03, 2014 morning Investigators from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office assembleda photo line-up from the description that the victim had given Deputies earlier in the morning. The victim was able to identify the suspect by the photo line-up.

On Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at approximately 1:00pm Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies located Sean Menzies and arrested him on the above charges. He was transported to the Trinity County Jail where he isbooked.
