Let the Water Wars Begin: Elderly Mendocino Woman’s Tank Drained of 3000 Gallons

Water is precious in this drought year. The most recent, but undoubtedly not the last Mendocino County water theft, of the year, happened in Gualala. Eighty-seven year old Kathrine Dimaio reported that on May 23, her full storage tank was drained of about 3000 gallons of the precious liquid.

According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, Dimaio said this wasn’t the first time water had been taken from the tank. The estimated financial loss is $1000.
