Free Wilderness Photography Class

Press Release:

Wilderness Photography: Tips and Tricks,” a free lecture, will be presented Tuesday, January 21, at 7 p.m., at the Healy Senior Center, 456 Briceland Rd., in Redway.

Bob Wick, of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), will present the basics of photography, technical aspects, and photo editing software. He will also share tips on capturing the best images with your smart phone or point-and-shoot camera.

“This lecture is aimed at beginning and intermediate photographers, but anyone will enjoy it because I will use photos from BLM conservation lands throughout the west,” said Wick.

Wick is the BLM California’s Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers program manager. He is a self-taught avid landscape photographer and BLM lands are his favorite subject. Wick’s photography is often featured on BLM social media sites including Instragram and Facebook. Links can be found on the BLM California homepage at www.blm.gov/ca.

The lecture is being presented by the BLM and the Lost Coast Interpretive Association as part of their annual winter lecture series. The King Range National Conservation Area is part of the BLM’s National Landscape Conservation System. More information is available at the BLM King Range Project Office, (707) 986-5400 or by emailing the office at [email protected].
