Fatal Accident on Mattole Road Yesterday
Just before 5 p.m. yesterday, CHP dispatch reported a head on traffic collision on Mattole Road. LoCO has learned that the accident resulted in a fatality.

Michael Wayne Kuhnel, age 64, a resident of Honeydew died as a result of the incident. Kuhnel has been a resident of the area for about 10 years and, according to a source close to the family, Kuhnel “will be greatly missed by his family and friends.”
