Lodge Fire Continues North, Cal Fire Holds Meeting With Nearby Residents

The Lodge Fire burning southeast of Leggett continues spreading northwards. Cal Fire has called a meeting at 1 p.m. in South Leggett at the Redwood Mercantile to brief residents on the coming fire. Currently, Cal Fire is saying that 35 structures in the area are believed to be threatened.

A press release from that agency at 8:30 a.m. said, “Structure defense preparation began from Tan Oak Park to Big Bend. Firefighting personnel and equipment are actively working to construct fireline across the northern boundary of the fire and secure existing containment lines.”

The Lodge Fire is currently burning on 4600 acres with only 25% containment. Over 1600 personnel are stationed in the area to fight the blaze.
