Avenue of the Giants Closed Due to Down Tree [Updated with Photo–Road Opened]

UPDATE 12 a.m.: Road opened.

UPDATED 9 p.m.: According to Caltrans spokesperson, Betsy Totten, the Avenue of the Giants is closed 1/4 mile north of Weott. A tree has fallen and is suspended on wires above the roadway. Crews are on scene and working to remove the hazard.

Caltrans is reporting that Avenue of the Giants is currently closed at mile marker 18.5. CHP dispatch reports that the tree has fallen on wires and the gps coordinates given point to an spot just north of Weott. 

Caltrans is reporting that PG&E is onsite with them working to clear the problem.
