Benbow Bust Yields 613 Plants, Etc.

Humboldt Co. Sheriff’s Press Release:

On 10-16-13 at about 8:45 A.M. Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit served a Humboldt County Superior Court search warrant in the 7000 block of Benbow Drive in the town of Garberville.

The following persons were located on the property when the warrant was served: 66 year old Pearl Hurd, 28 year old Anthony Nielsen, and 24 year old Brittany Tonks.

During the service of the warrant Deputies located at total of 613 growing marijuana plants and 175 pounds of processed marijuana bud, packaged for sales. Other evidence of sales including scales, packaging materials and over $8,000.00 in U.S. currency was also located.

All three suspects were issued citations for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales, and the property owner, Pearl was also charged with maintaining a residence for the purpose of storing or distributing a controlled substance.

This investigation is on-going.
