POP says, “Won’t You be Mine” to Valentine and Friends

On 03/04/2013, detectives from the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) conducted narcotic enforcement in the Old Town area of Eureka. During the operation, Boris Lee Valentine (age 45) was spotted driving a GMC SUV near 4th and ‘N’ streets. A traffic stop was conducted at 2nd and ‘Q’ streets, resulting in Valentine’s arrest for an outstanding felony warrant.

Valentine had two passengers in his vehicle at the time of his arrest: Selena Ranney (age 29) and Casey Hunter (age 31). As a result of the detective’s investigation, Ranney was taken into custody for Possession of a Dirk or Dagger, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Probation Violations. Hunter was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant, Possession of Heroin (.6 grams), and Possession of Methamphetamine (.5 grams).

All three subjects were transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
