Moon and Jupiter Won’t Be this Close Again Until 2026

Tonight our moon and Jupiter appear very close together–closer than they will be again until 2026. In parts of South America, the moon actually will cover (or occult) Jupiter tonight. However, here on the North Coast the two just get very close.

 

If you go outside and look tonight, the two celestial bodies are the brightest objects in the sky.
