Former Humboldt Resident Found with $12,400 + Controlled Substances on Hwy 299

Trinity Co. Sheriff Press Release:

On 04/12/2013 at approximately 4:45 pm a Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop on SR 299 at Nugget Lane in Weaverville on a vehicle for operating with expired registration tags. During the traffic stop, a K9 Deputy arrived on scene and conducted a search of the exterior of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle and the two subjects inside were detained.

A search of the vehicle by Deputies found $12,400 in US Currency. The Trinity County Narcotics Task Force was contacted and responded to the scene. After interviews, the US Currency was seized and the two subjects were released pending further investigation.  

Suspects: Johnston, Jerimiah H. DOB: 12/28/1985, Tuolumne, CA [He attended HSU and his name probably is spelled Jeremiah Johnston]

Groesbeck, Kendra DOB: 07/11/1983, Tuolumne, CA
