Bicyclist Injured in Accident on 101–Possible Fatality

UPDATE, Feb. 25, 5:15 p.m.: The information below was incorrect; the John Mello killed yesterday was not the John Mello who used to work for the Department of Fish and Wildlife. That John Mello writes:

I am the John Mello that recently retired from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and not the fellow of the same name that died in yesterday’s unfortunate traffic accident on Highway 101 near Stone Lagoon.  Would it be possible to update the Lost Coast Outpost blog on this accident?  Although we do not know the Mello family of McKinleyville, we are very sorry for their loss.

The Lost Coast Outpost regrets the error.
