It’s a Mad, Mad Winter

Winter landed hard in Northern California this December.  Rain, snow, and wind have added their share of hardship for those living here but also the storms have added water and, as in the case above, great beauty. 

This photo was taken in the Mad River area earlier this week. Bolithio, a regular contributor here, maintains a photo blog at Nooks and Crannies that shows more of photos of the snow covering this wild area. Some might even be more beautiful than this one.
