Humboldt Hires Three New Deputy Sheriffs

Sheriff Mike Downey is proud to announce the hiring of three new deputy sheriffs. Sheriff Downey swore in deputies Luke Mathieson, 24 years old from McKinleyville, California and Spellman Stallworth, 25 years old from Arcata, California on November 13, 2012. Both Deputies Mathieson and Stallworth attended and graduated from College of the Redwoods Police Academy.

 

On 12-17-2012, Sheriff Downey swore in lateral Deputy Destry Henderson, 32 years from Lakeport. Henderson was a Lakeport, California Police Officer for eight years prior to accepting a job with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s office.

 

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office currently has two open deputy positions which it is recruiting for, and fifteen frozen deputy positions due to budgetary constraints.
