Fire in the Reed Mountain Area

Terri Klementson of KMUD says there is a fire in the Reid Mountain area which is  about 2 miles east of Richardson Grove.  Cal Fire and local crews are responding.

She reported on SoHum Awareness,

Vegetation fire burning on the SE side of Reed Mtn, between Benbow and Garberville. Calfire & local departments @ scene, initial assessment says 100 x 80 feet burning, grass into timber. Redway water tender at scene. Calfire air attack, meaning spotter plane working the area. Air tanker & helicopter called off, but engines still responding. Fire was spotted around 1:30 this afternoon. ~Terri Klemetson – KMUD News
