Fire Near Carlotta
Firefighters are battling a 60 acre fire off Hwy 36 near the community of Carlotta (Humboldt County). Fire is 30% contained.
UPDATE 11:11 at Noon: Yager Fire off Hwy 36 near Carlotta (Humboldt County) is now 65 acres & 40% contained. Full containment expect tonight.
UPDATE 11/12: Yager Fire [final] off Hwy 36 near Carlotta (Humboldt County) is now 100% contained at 60 acres.

I live in Carlotta (Humboldt County), and it’s my sincere hope that the b e a u t i f u l moon as you refer to it, is the last one we see.
A side from that, upon returning from Arcata tonight, I was pulled over by H.S. Police. Now that I look at the citation, I must have really rattled him–wrong date, wrong address and it was on an on-ramp. I didn’t know that their ‘area’ covered any area off of the campus?? His first words to me were, “You’re from southern Humboldt huh?” He was basing this on the fact that my plates are my plates. “Are there more like you in southern Humboldt?” I had to laugh. I told him no probably not, but that I’m working on it. That we’re in transition and we can’t complain about the ‘system’ and support it (via taxes, labeled d/l, Regis and ins). A lady cop came and conversed w/me 20 mins. or so, while he figured out what to do. She was extra nice. We discussed your blog site(s),, she said that when she wants up-to-the-minute information in Humboldt, she goes here. Gave me her name, she’s a Sergent, and had no knowledge of California seceding. I told her that the legislature site has the info., as well as the Attorney General. The citation? It takes 3 un-opened, ‘Return to Sender, No PERSON at this address w/that NAME. I do not have a contract w/you.’ Then, THEY stop their charade. Of course, I signed w/TDC in front of my signature.
