Kettenpom Double Murder Update

The Trinity County Journal recently did an excellent interview with the parents of Sky Richardson.  It is an informative piece. I highly recommend it. Below are some important quotes.

  1. “We want to make sure people know we’re grateful to the Gunds and the Kettenpom community,” said Erica Crimp, mother of 26-year-old Christopher Sky Richardson. “They’re people with good hearts.”
  2. Trinity County Det. Bryan Ward has said there is no evidence that anyone but Gouverneur was responsible. Toxicology reports and results of evidence sent to the state Department of Justice are still pending.
  3. The Crimps are confident that Gouverneur, known as Mas to friends, alone was responsible for the killings. …. “He left on his own to see Sky,” Erica Crimp said.
  4. “We think it was a crime of passion,” Dave Crimp said, although he added that the use of a stun gun indicates some level of premeditation. “We do not know the reason or depth.”

I can’t read the piece for two weeks. Does anyone know another way to get access?

Of course there’s no new evidence, they haven’t looked for any. What do they think, evidence is going to come through the window?

If anyone’s still watching this blog for this story, I thought they might want to know that Trinity County has decided to hide as much as possible about the Kettenpom incident, and aren’t going to release 911 tapes, autopsies, or anything else:

But of course, everything MUST be exactly as the official story is. No reason to ask any questions, you’d have to be nutty to do that…

RT,

I’ve been monitoring for more information and there hasn’t been any. It does look like Trinity is going into CYA mode. Hopefully the Searchlight will be able to force the information out in their request for public records.

Unfortunately, Trinity County does not have a public records law, so they won’t be able to force out the public records unless someone files a lawsuit and subpoenas them. The only people, it seems, who have a cause of action against Trinity County would be the Gunds. So unless they file suit, no details about the 911 call or the Sheriff’s Office response might ever get out.

Mendocino County DOES have a public records law, so it may be possible to force them to divulge records about the communications they had with Trinity County, as well as police reports and details about the car accident and the evidence recovered from the vehicle.

The California DOJ is also covered by California’s public records laws, so the results of the evidence processing they have done should also be something that can be forced out, if anyone chooses to press the issue.

Unfortunately, the autopsy was done by the Trinity County coroner. And the autopsy would likely not be relevant to any suit filed by the Gunds. So that might have information that TCSO may be able to hide forever.

Autopsies are typically only released to families. It sounds like the other stuff isn’t being released until the investigation is complete, not that it’s never going to be released.

Also, Quaker, California has a state public records law that would apply to Trinity County.

All this has to do with the sheriff’s office being worried about the fact that they sent the Gunds over to check on the murder scene and they were attack by a wannabe hippie who in the end was just an alpha male out for money.

I had read on this site that a family friend said the
young couple were strangled. I would imagine there would
be enough DNA evidence from that act to prove there was
no one else involved in the deaths of these people RT.
