Salmon Creek Road Goat Invasion
Salmon Creek Road in Southern Humboldt near the intersection with Thomas Rd has an invasion of charming brown and white goats. If little Bo Peep wants to know where to find them, leaving them alone might not be a great option in this case, sadly they might be attached to the grills of cars if they aren’t rounded up soon.
Drivers, be careful.

Ah, how sweet
We see them all the time. One time a doe had 2 brand new kidds and birthed one more while we watched.
Lucky. I wish I had seen that! No. I wish I had photographed that;>
There were bunches (herds?) of wild goats on the Woods Ranch b4 subdivision and another up Ohman Creek. Several people had spectacular ram’s skulls and horns. Haven’t seen any for a long time.
I remember seeing some mountain goats down by Leggett once. They were beautiful. Every time I go past that spot I look eagerly hoping to see them again. It has been years so I feel dumb but I can’t help the hope.
Are these newcomer goats or multi-generational natives who migrated from Goat Rock atop the ridge?

These are Boer goats,a domestic breed raised for meat (although a few in this group don’t look as stocky as Boers usually are). Like all other goats, they will eat any plant or tree… Just make sure your fences are in good repair and gates closed!
