Body Found at Wildwood Campground Near Fort Bragg
UPDATE: On 3-24-2011 the decedent was identified as Jeffrey Malcolm Ahart. Jeffrey frequented the North Coast Community.
A forensic autopsy was conducted and his cause of death will be pending the results of the toxicology findings.

On 03-23-2011 at 1836 hours Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Wildwood Campground, located on Highway 20 in the Fort Bragg area, in regards to a found deceased body.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted two residents of the campground who had reportedly found the deceased.
The residents said they had been walking their dog in the wooded area to the rear of the campground earlier in the day. The dog ran off into the heavily wooded area and a short time later the residents were able to find the dog.
At this time the residents noticed the dog was standing near a deceased Adult Male laying on the ground. The residents returned to the campground and had their discovery reported to the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatcher.
The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit was called to the scene and began investigations into the circumstances of the Adult Male’s death.
During the initial scene investigation, the adult male was identified by investigators as the result of his facial features and tattoos. Some of the investigators had previous contacts with the Adult Male, but his name is being withheld at this time pending notification of his Legal Next of Kin.
No obvious signs of major trauma were noted upon the adult Male’s body and a forensic autopsy has been scheduled for 03-24-2011 to help determine the cause of death.
