The Kettenpom Double Homicide: How to Follow the Unfolding Story

Kristin Constantino(age 33)-one of the victims.  Her memorial page here.

Christopher Sky Richardson (age 26)–one of the victims. His memorial page here

Tomas Pitagoras Gouverneur (age 32)–accused murderer

I’ve been asked to provide links to all the posts for ease of following what has happened.

The murders happened around 4:45 on Sunday, March 13th.

The next day I posted here but caution some of the information is incorrect.

Then on the 16th I posted the Gunds’ daughter’s account here.

Then on the 17th I posted a consolidation of all the information here.  (This is a good starting place)

More on the 17th about marijuana being found in the getaway car and the victims’ residence here.

On the 18th, came a better explanation of how the 911 call happened. Here.

Note the links to the two victims’ memorial pages under their pictures above.

UPDATE: There is an excellent piece in the  Corvalis Gazette Times that adds in some of the history between the three younger people. Here is an excerpt.

“Despite the confusing circumstances of Richardson’s death, his mother, Erica Crimp, said that she has no hard feelings toward the man suspected of killing her son.

“I don’t understand, but for me, I don’t care,” she said. “I feel compassion for Más’s mom and family and for Más too.”

Crimp said her son and Gouverneur’s fiancé, Jenna Summer Smith, knew each other since they were kids.

“(Jenna’s) been around forever in a sisterly way,” she said. “They were really good friends.”

UPDATE April 11: s.”  More information here.

UPDATE April 15: Letter to the editor from Jim Gund

UPDATE May 25: Toxicology report on Tomas Gouverneur shows no drug or alcohol use.

UPDATE Sept 21: Gouverneur planned the attacks on Richardson and Constantino.

Because Kym capably covered this story in detail over the past several days,
not much is new for you here– but for interested readers, Donna Tam’s Times-Standard article today, “Trinity County Sheriff’s Office denies sending couple to investigate 911 call; release says deputy asked for directions, advised against going to residence,”
is here.

I just want to thank you, Kym, for continuing to post the most recent updates and develoments, as well as for your unbiased treatment of the case. It has been very difficult to follow and process the information as a friend of the suspect, so I am especially grateful for your delicate handling of the case. Thank you, thank you. Peace be with you.

I’d gladly do that but only if they want it to be done (besides a memorial page since they are alive seems a little unsettling–a page in honor of good neighbors seems appropriate though!) They have had a bad enough week to last a couple years. I have no intention of adding to their trauma. If they would feel honored though, and somebody would like to send some stories and photos in for them…then I’ll happily start a page. Be pleased to honor them, in fact.

The police have apparently been instructed to not communicate with the media about this case any more.

its not about the police ,we dont have police here, its in the hands of the California Department of justice, and most likely the Feds.it involved 3 counties ,I guarantee this will be investegated to the fullest extent, two violent murders, two violent attempted murders, drugs, robery,

I believe the lead for the investigation is the Trinity County Sheriff’s office, although the DOJ lent them some staff for crime scene processing. I would be surprised if the feds get involved; murder isn’t in their purview, and this doesn’t seem like a big enough drug operation to merit their attention.

If you really think this is going to be fully investigated, you are very naive about law enforcement.

RT you need to lay off all the innocent folks out here and deal with your loss personally.
Your friend Mas was no saint, nor was Sky for that matter. but face it they were running pot up the border for over 5 years into Oregon and making quite a profit at that, and greed can change relationships as well as hearts.
Move on get a life of your own and let the dust settle.

Lay off, I know that in the wake of such horror it is almost inevitable that the pain and anger are going to roll out but, though I know it is hard, please try to speak gently online. Speak what has to be said, but try to do so kindly if you can. As kindly as you would like to be spoken to. There are so many innocent people suffering here from the Gunds to Sky and Kristine’s family and friends and yes, Tomas’ family and friends, too. None of them did anything to deserve the pain that they are feeling now. Let’s all work together to minimize the suffering that is coming out of this.

Thank you for your kind attitude. It is impossible to know what happened out there, but there are a lot of holes in the story, and as a friend of Mas, I would love for there to be a true investigation. I think there is more than meets the eye here.

I should ‘lay off’ saying that there should be an investigation? Why is everybody out there so defensive? Why are so many people willing just just close this up without thorough investigation, and get so angry at the suggestion that the police should look into it more closely?

I would also like to see the results of the investigation…I think it will be a lot easier for people to move on once we know more about what happened. Is there an information line to call with the Trinity Police Dept? At least to let them know there are some of us who still want to know what happened, and won’t just sweep this under the rug and forget…

RT,
Not everybody is saying that there shouldn’t be an investigation. Most of the people I hear from believe there is one being conducted now. Maybe they are wrong. Certainly if the family members aren’t being contacted by the investigators, I can see why you are concerned. Is that up to date information?

As of last week, they had not communicated anything to the families. So no, that is not completely up to date. But if they were going to conduct interviews of anyone, it doesn’t make much sense to sit on your hands for two weeks.

I have been searching for some facts on this incident as well. I was able to find this from yesterday. It basically says DOJ is still processing fingerprints. I do not have access to the full story, if anyone else does, please share.

Thank you. I love it when I get help! I noticed that they are processing blood samples as well. If any one is a subscriber and would let us know if we are missing anything else, that would be nice.

I think it is relevant information that no one from any law department from any county has questioned Jenna. Its obvious she might know details that would be helpful to the investigation having known both men involved intimately. The Police refused to write a simple letter saying they had all the samples they needed from the accused body. And they will not give the accused family any information on where the car is, the clothes, the weapon. At this point, they have had a month to do whatever they wanted with any of the evidence and it is clear that they do not want to know what really happened.

If investigators “do not want to know what really happened,” wouldn’t they write the “simple letter” saying they had all the samples they needed (I’m assuming that has something to do with the body being released to family) and gladly give the killer’s family his car, clothes and weapon back?

The Trinity Journal is reporting the homicide was premeditated.

“Court documents pertaining to the March 13 Kettenpom murders suggest not a sudden act of rage but advance planning on the part of the deceased suspect, Tomas Gouverneur, in the two brutal slayings.

Receipts indicate that Gouverneur, 32, of Corvallis, Ore., had been in Oregon the day before the killings. The receipts found in his wrecked vehicle show that items used in the killings of 33-year-old Kristine Constantino of Kettenpom and 26-year-old Christopher “Sky” Richardson of Blodgett, Ore., were purchased in Oregon, according to search warrant affidavits filed at the Trinity County Superior Court.”

More details are in the full article at http://www.trinityjournal.com (subscription required.)
