Coming Out Announcement for Mendo Growers

The Mendocino Farmers Collective is opening up a dispensary in Area 101. They plan to have a new building up by…4/20…when else? But even sooner, they plan to use the existing building.  They are already delivering in Orange County but very soon hope to provide medicine to those who travel up Highway 101 past Laytonville. (Question for Humboldt growers,  Do you think this will cut down on your sales?)

Marv Levin, the spokesman says,

…what is also happening is those growers, who are a part of our collective, can now come out and take pride in their crop.

This is big. Beyond everything that we’re doing up there… One of the things we’re doing… is to create…
Most of us already have pleasure in what we’re doing, for the most part. Growing marijuana can be a lot of headaches; it’s a hard life.
But what the growers now can do is say, “This is my stuff. I grew this!” That pride will become contagious. We’ve never been able to come out like this before.
People are going to want our medicine because it was grown clean and green in Mendocino County. And soon, like Napa Valley wines, we’ll be everywhere.

I’m looking forward to dropping by and seeing this at Area 101.

The ‘Area 101’ website was a fascinating read, especially the brief history of the area, Mr. Blake, his Santa Cruz happenings, Cannabis Cup, Boot Camp, and especially the Native American accounts he mentioned there. I enjoyed hearing of Area 101– we’ve always wondered about it seeing the different changes over time. We’ll kindly stop on in to check it out during one of our commutes if its cool, along with Wavy Gravy’s farm.

The other articles were also good. The link to the Mendo Farmers Collective didn’t come thru but that’s ok, it’s here:

The history at the Area 101 site was interesting. As history goes, Fishing and Logging have really gone to Pot. Can’t wait till the generators shut down though. Diesel dope is just wrong. Noisy all night, smelly, polluting and an energy waste. When legal, everybody will be able to Put Em In The SUN and the price will drop till a base price is established, without the artificial price support that exists in the present boot leg market. Like wine some will fetch a higher price and some will be priced like cheap wine: and eat up the landscape and water like Gallo wineries.
