Protesters Unfurl Banner at Richardson Grove

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, a group of protesters gathered in Richardson Grove.  At a little after one, there were around 50 people.  Twelve were in the roadway blocking trucks from going by. At some point a banner was unfurled.

Kathy Epling said on Facebook that her neighbor in Piercy called her and reported “our frontage road is lined with CHP vehicles and officers (she estimated 15 cars, but that seems like a lot). The officers said they were there in case the protest in Richardson Grove got out of hand, but, said one “it won’t”.”

But the incident is now marked as close.

Kym, why don’t you all just keep listening to what the cops want you to believe. While you’re at it, let the media rot your brain like a November pumpkin.

Like I said, you should be there instead of being a armchair blogger critic.

You know Kym, you seem a lot nicer in person when you are not attacking people for their causes and beliefs, a constitutional right the last time I checked. I’m really not into the current form of fascism that our country has been into lately and not so lately. I’m that nice kind of person that doesn’t take shit from the mainstream media or the “man” but will be happy to have an intelligent debate with you if you want to discuss the facts.

I’m concerned about your promotion of hate speech and suppression. I think I have you figured out when it comes to this project and how it is really personal for you.

Don’t worry, it is like that for me as well. Only it’s not my partner helping to fuck up sensitive and roadless areas. It’s the tax man for me….

Jeff,

I spent my day with an ill friend who needed me. We all have priorities.

I think your protest is fine and I support your right to do it. I gave the officers’ version of events and I pointed to Forest Defender’s version. That seems pretty even handed to me–even though I am not acting as a journalist here. I am an advocate like you are. That is a valuable thing not something to be scorned.

As far as I know I have not attacked you for your causes or beliefs, in fact, I’ve said repeatedly that I respect your passion. Why am I not allowed to be equally passionate for a position?
