Three Car Sunset
Last evening I saw a road hazard sunset–a sky so beautiful that drivers pulled over equally to avoid an accident and to luxuriate in an extraordinary sight.
The sky blazed and strangers held cameras up to inhale the scent of eternity and share it with their friends. One more car pulled up spilling children and their mother. As golden squares of home light began echoing sky light across the tiny town of Loleta, the cows munched grass on the hills and stared at us–surprised that we were so enchanted by the natural. The colors exhausted themselves and died to black and the children crept into their mother’s arms unwilling to bustle away before the stars came out.

A rather boring eternity judging from the mediocre photo.
Constipated?

A relative from the Sacramento valley sent me a photo of last night’s sunset, too. I sent back this sunrise from last week.

Wonderful words and a beautiful memory. What a great way to rate sunsets.
