Is it Big? Is It Diesel? Then it must be a Humboldt Grow
Humboldt has been known for its quality marijuana for nearly forty years. But I just saw a disturbing new turn in the conversation. Humboldt is now being talked about for exporting its big diesel grows. Monday afternoon in Stanislaus County, law enforcement busted a huge (240 x 40 ft former chicken barn) diesel grow. It contained around 2000 plants and 53 pounds of processed marijuana and it was powered by a 150 KW generator.
A columnist writing about the bust said, “…what set this pot plant apart from the rest, in Stanislaus County at least, was its sheer scope and complexity. This one had all the sophistication of a well-honed Humboldt County operation, and those folks are the experts…And [it was] way too loud. In fact, the noisy diesel generator running 24-7 is what tipped off someone to the operation. ”
Is this our brand? Is this our legacy? Is this what we want to teach the world?

We’ve all heard the loud generator syndrome. Some areas just hum at night when it’s quiet.
Humboldt style grow??
Excuse me! But it don’t look like one to me.
Lights 6+ feet away from some spindly-assed sativa plants in DIRT! I think not….Dudes go Hydro, move to lights WAY closer, get some Light-Rail tracker motors, some ebb&flow tables and some freaking Hydroponic growing medium like Rockwool. These ‘Chicken Farmers’ still have a lot to learn about pot growin’ and it ain’t Humboldt style yet.
