Proposition Pot–A Documentary Airs This Saturday

Channel 10 out of Sacramento provided a sneak preview of its documentary about Prop 19, Proposition Pot, which is scheduled to air this Saturday.

Many locals (including me) are quoted.  Here is a link to the video and the accompanying article . Liz Davidson of the Tea House Collective (see photo above signing up patients at the International Cannabis and Hemp Expo) said,

“When we talked early on about branding Humboldt, it was a no- brainer to me that the Humboldt brand is about the environment. The ‘back to the land’ community that created the cannabis culture was all about sustainability.”

The piece talks about the effort of many local entrepreneurs to move with the changing markets.  It says, “Many growers [in Humboldt] are depending on marketing their sustainably grown pot as a way of differentiating themselves from chemically reliant indoor grows or the sterility of an industrial grown plant.”  I’m looking forward to seeing the whole documentary this weekend.

Have you seen the latest polls on prop 19? It looks like it will probably go down, pretty substantially.

can somebody tape it and upload it? I’m really curious to see the degree to which they humor the “growers are against legalization” nonsense…it’s become the litmus test of whether or not a serious discussion is going on, or more like car wreck rubbernecking tabloid TV kinda thing to stir people up. Wouldn’t support be by a landslide if the media said
“growers” are all in favor of legalization as well? They could be saying growers are looking forward to surfacing themselves and becoming welcomed, comfortably vocal contributors within their locality.

I don’t know much about the Tea House but the little I’ve looked on the internets…they’re definitely on top of the game!

Have you seen the latest polls on prop 19? It looks like it will probably go down, pretty substantially.

Polls are always right especially when its close. Look at Prop 8 that had no dominate polls every time and it went down hard months later in court.

Intrade has it at 45 so it might lose.

TV ads are not happening. Internet ads look split but both are out juiced by folks with more prop 19 ad bankroll like online bong stores, newspapers, that site selling prop 19 hats and bumper stickers, and even 55,000 view slideshow of teenage white girls smoking weed with Prop 19 California typed wrong.

I take that back, that slideshow is not all white girls and it only got 32,000 views. At the end it got all serious… I feel stupid for watching the whole thing.

Unrelated, but on the upper right of the linked page is a photo of what appears to be the rare phenomenonemon of a bud growing at the base of a leaf’s fans. I’ve only seen this a couple times in person. Now…if there was a way to breed that specific growth in a novelty strain…
