Not Ho Hum in SoHum
Our Farmers’ Market
Sing hey for the harvest. Sing hay for small towns.
Let your pulse provide the beat and your neighbors the sounds.
Flowers in the sun. Vendors in the shade
Women with aprons and pastries they’ve made.
Fill your mouth at the market.
Let your heart with joy thrum.
Taste the juice of the season
And the soul of SoHum.

I don’t know who this vendor was but he sold me some delicious lemon cucumbers. Bless him and may I find him again this Friday.

That’s Mel Kreb, who with his wife Holly owns Flood Plain Produce (or Farm?). He’s also a member of the Humboldt County Planning Commission.
Nice photo. Very colorful shot in the background! is that a fruit hanging in the corner? Or is it a hat?

Love those massive sunflower heads. Way to go Mel.

The Humboldt Fiesta and farmers market was a great showing of a tight knit community. Wonderful food, music and local produce. Thanks Kym for capturing that moment and thanks for all that contributed to our community square. It has given us another fantastic community gathering place.
