Remember 9/11 and Don't Put up a Mosque…
…even though there were Muslims killed in the destruction. Even though we wouldn’t think of prohibiting a Christian church being built near the site of an abortion clinic bombing.
We show our basest instincts when we turn from one religion because some of its members are terrorists. We show our highest values when we embrace a culture that is different than our own even though some of its members have hurt us. (The woman who lost her husband in the attacks of 9/11 but who helps the disadvantaged in Afghanistan inspires me.)
Today, let’s rise up to our highest values in memory of those who lost their lives, let’s not sink to our lowest.

Well put.
Today I sat and pondered forgiveness and how it is a cornerstone of my faith and yet how some in my faith seem to practice something different. It is hard for us sometimes. But we think even harder for The One we try to follow. Nice post Kym.

Are there Christian churches built in Nagasaki or hiroshima? Are there Christian churches built on reservations? Is there a moral eguilancy between blowing up a wedding party with a drone operated from kansas and a person blowing up a wedding party with a bomb strapped to themselves?

Don’t miss these rants by Allison Jackson’s biggest booster , and Paul Gallegos’ loudest critic, Rose Welsh. Read what she has to say about Mosques and Muslims:
http://thecoffeeshopblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/peace-seeking-muslims-pls-understand.html
Rose:
“No new mosque should be allowed within 50 miles of that site. Or in that
state or in this country for that matter, until those who planned 9/11 are
dead, and their murderous jihad has ended forever.
Bowing and scraping dishonors the innocents who died that day.”

These are the same folks who want to “TAKE BACK HUMBOLDT COUNTY” on election day.
