I Cannabutlaugh at the Cannabis World

With the five growers shot in Northern California this summer by officers and the more recent shooting in a Kneeland garden, sometimes the marijuana world feels like its at war.

But the part of the culture I love is its joy in life and its playful side. Often times the tension between official and grower feels more like a game than a war.  And the players are the officers as well the growers.  In the past, CAMP has been known to leave notes taunting the growers.  Here is one:

“You tried to beat the system by growing in the sun

We just want to thank you for providing us such fun.

We know that you all hate us

But we don’t really care

We found your plants and cut them

Who said that life was fair?”

Just recently, on Sunday, after  raiding a pot patch, the local sheriff’s deputy stopped at our hospice benefit with large cannabis plants strapped all over his official vehicle. Knowing that a goodly number of the supporters at the event were growers donating, he jokingly announced that this was his donation.

The growers love a joke about the strain between the two sides.  In fact, a grower at the hospice event went up to the deputy and shook his hand with a doobie palmed in his other.

…and as he walked away from the cop, he showed a joint in his hand and said in (fake) amazement “wow, look what the cop just gave me!” and so legend was made. The whole place was retelling the story all day.

See both parts of the story here and here at one of my favorite blogs, One Good Year.

That is a wonderful picture! Thank you.

Are frogs a natural pest control?

I’ve never seen frogs in a plant before. I think this one was just there to smell the flowers;>

I asked a permaculture expert and he replies: “Much of their diet consists of spiders, beetles, flies, ants, and other insects and arthropods; they can and do eat insects that are almost as large as they are, and will expand their bodies slightly to accommodate these meals.”
They also attract snakes, which eat more insects, along with a few frogs.

So hurray for frogs in your plants! Hope they eat mites too.

They used to say that cannabis made white women promiscuous with black men. They keep coming up with more and more nonsense all the time.

Look at this story. Thank God that doctors and scientists are beginning to stand up for the truth:

Kym, Looks like you’ve caught a follower from England! Doing good.

I had to smile at the comment, though: “They used to say that cannabis made white women promiscuous with black men.” I wonder if he’s taken a real good look at American society lately?

Remember what I said about anarchy and what it breeds? You can try to put a pretty face on death and murder, but it still is what it is – a rotting corpse. As these deaths escalate the real truth about war begins to come home. Like it or not, the threat touches us all now.

Finace here:

In my opinion, and like we’ve said before MendoBoldt is a war zone and its getting worse every year. Y’all can try to ignore it all you want but you know what happens to those who stick their head in the sand to hide from the truth. They get their butts shot off! I feel sorry for you and the lifestyle that you are losing. Y’all invited them in with lax laws laid back “we love eveybody and everything” attitude and declared open season on yourselves in the process. Between the feds, cartels, bikers and various other criminal orgainzations you can’t help but get caught in the crossfire. We won’t even mention all the “wanna be” idiots. Each and everyone of those groups is at war with all of the other ones wanting their piece of the Humboldt Pie. They want the old school growers piece and everyone elses…its all about greed now. I hope you and yours come out the other side ok without any serious casualities. Peace and Stay Safe!

‘and the more recent shooting in a Kneeland garden,’

As if it is an aside. A local ‘boy’ is held on murder and attempted murder charges and you mention it ,days later, as an incidental ? The Kneeland shooting reflects on us all. His family first, and the larger family of the tightknit Salmon Creek Community – one that has let too many of its you fall off the rails. How do we avoid the NEXT murder? How do we heal and turn around a family? A community? Unanswerable Q’s i know. And i respect and understand your hesitance in taking on this horrible turn of events. The cycle of violence is not an ez nut to crack. No salvo or lyrical poem can explain it. I’m sorry.

The occupational military force masquerading as “law enforcement” are the cause of the violence, because violence is what government does. Though out history government steals all the money, goes bankrupt, then kills the people- why is occupational military force going to be any different? Until we are able to unite as a People and toss these mofos out of our lands, there will be war. Government only knows war, and war is the sole reason for their grip on power over the populace. Don’t fall for the lies of their rigged vote, propaganda, or need for larger weapons to defend you- it is a lie. Government can only tell lies, because there is no truth in government…… Place the blame on them, not your neighbor.

Truth & Rights
these will never go out of fashion!

resist the enemy by not partaking in their theft or corruption, do not do business with the enemy- don’t sell them food, fuel, house them, or help them when they lay in the ditch along the road- they are there only to oppress and steal from you to feed their greedy existence.
They are the warriors of Lucifer and should be seen as such, as their own deeds show them to be harbingers of their own lies and destruction.

Embrace your neighbor, not the tax collector- lift up your community while you spit at theirs and wipe the dirt from your feet for their soil is poison, like the lives they live.

I cannabelieve what an outstanding photo this is! Seriously, this has got to be one of the greatest bud-shots of all time. And I love the whimsy in light of all of the tragedy. I, for one, needed the smile. Thank you, Kym!!
