CAMP in Humboldt

Humboldt County  Sheriff Press Release

The Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP) concluded its first week in Humboldt County yesterday after eradicating more than 33,500 marijuana plants in four days.

Monday teams eradicate 17,500 plants from 12 gardens near Groves Prairie (near Willow Creek).

Tuesday 5,100 plants were eradicated and a loaded AK-47 rifle was recovered at a garden near Friday Ridge Road.

Near Red Cap Road in Hoopa, teams eradicated 8,149 plants Wednesday.  Of those plants, 5,000 were found on tribal land.

Finally, Thursday the teams found 2,766 plants from seven gardens near Slate Creek, Orleans.

With the exception of those noted, the marijuana plants were eradicated from US Forest Service property.  The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office worked with personnel from CAMP and the US Forest Service.  The CAMP effort is expected to continue.

  • It’s like “Groundhog Day – the movie” with a wicked twist every season – CAMP has to find more pot every year in order to get federal funding for the next. Taxpayers have to fund the insanity. The endless “war on drugs” continues another decade seeking to keep us all in the dark ages.

    Wait…perhaps George Orwell’s 1984 is a better comparison?

  • I saw two DOJ vans headed north on 10 today in convoy mode in the fast lane. I’ve seen this so many times I can tell who they are in my rear view mirror.

  • Fiance here:

Keep it out of the National Forests and you’d solve a lot of these problems. Keep it limited and something that vaguely resembles legal…….under 100 plants.

  • Discouraged Democrat

Those that place these huge, environmentally disastrous gardens on public lands tend not to read blogs such as this, I believe. And then the folks who do their best to “keep it limited and something that vaguely resembles legal” get caught in the sweeps — collateral damage.

  • Enemy Units ran Trinity County last week- hence the front on Willow Creek. Enemy Blackhawks were flying at night using FLIR, and during day had video cam and a mini-gun out each side of chopper, ground teams consisted of around 40 infantry in 8 heavy vehicles with several atv’s in two trailers. Enemy Units pointed weapons at free Citizens on Private Property in attempts to provoke fights and were flying at tree top- in direct violation of Private Property Rights.
The enemy is scared of gardeners and is afraid unless they can bring excessive firepower on women and children, but will run from a fair fight like the fags they are.
    Resist!

Women that don’t want to be involved in getting busted should stay out of an illegal business, if your worried about your kids then you should keep them out too. It is against federal law, always has been and you all know the consequences if you get caught. If your growing in the forest (which many of you do, it’s not all cartels in those woods) or if your grow is more than 99 plants you are illegal………you take the risk, you pay the price. The guys that got killed threatened the agents first, if you don’t want to get shot I suggest you leave your weapons at home and don’t point them at federal agents.

You made a choice moving to NoCal to grow, you knew the ramifications of that choice when you made it. Until you get off you a** and start working to change the laws on a federal level this is what you are going to be living through every year…..get over it or get out of the business. You are endangering your children, I assume your women made that choice on their own and they need to live with it as well. You are endangering your family by choosing to do what you do. Its not the feds fault, its yours. We all live with the choices we make and the consequences of those choices………..

  • The Campaign Against Marijuana Planting terrorizes NorCal Citizens in a hopeless, helicopter thrill-ride mission to weed-eat the forest. How many neighbors have to lose their lively hood of die (3 pot raid kills already this year) because of this discrepancy in our laws? Mendocino, Sonoma and Humboldt have suffered enough. C.A.M.P. needs to stay out of Nor Cal cities and stick with their huge eradication plan on federal land. They shouldn’t even be allowed on private property in my opinion. I’ve been following Northern California marijuana growers since 2005 and our documentary, “The Green Rush” is a balance report featuring CAMP and the DEA as they intrude the rights of citizen after citizen.
