Emergency Meeting Called in Mendocino to Deal with Raids

The recent DEA raid on a woman, Joy Greenfield, who was in compliance with Mendocino County rules has been followed by an undercover operation on the well-known Area 101 just north of Laytonville.  According to the Ukiah Daily Journal, four were arrested at a Rave.  The Rave called StillDream was a three day event.

According to Marvin Levin, president of the Mendocino Farmer’s Collective, “…[N]othing about the arrests at Area 101 had any connection to marijuana growing or the Mendocino Farmers Collective which has not yet begun operation at Area 101 save for occasional member meetings. ”

Agents from the Mendocino County Major Crimes Task Force and the California Alcoholic Beverage Control launched an undercover operation at the concert, during which they reportedly purchased MDMA from two suspects: Jethro Lloyd, 38, of Humboldt County, and TiaMaria Boxberger, 28, a transient.

Lloyd, who was working at the concert, reportedly had 15 baggies of MDMA, worth approximately $1,200. He was arrested on suspicion of possession and sale of drugs.

Boxberger, a concert attendee, reportedly also offered to sell the undercover officers mushrooms. She was arrested on suspicion of possession and sale of drugs.

Another man working at the concert was arrested. Ted Muth, 18, of Santa Cruz, reportedly offered free marijuana to an undercover officer, and some of the drug was found on his person. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs.

A fourth suspect, Jordan Irwin, 18, of Sacramento, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

Allman said the event was not advertised locally, and tickets were only sold in Reno and Sacramento and on the Internet.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the event promoters and staff workers.

Marijuana activists–Tim Blake, owner of the property, and Pebbles Trippet, reporter—are calling for a response.  in a week, on July 17th, they are convening an emergency stategy meeting 1 pm at the Saturday Afternoon Club in Ukiah to determine how best to meet renewed hostilities from law enforcement.  Joy Greenfield is expected to speak on her experience of complying with the Sheriff’s office but yet still being targeted by the DEA.

Fiance here:

What I don’t get is why no one up there heard what I heard or sees the progression I’m seeing. Obama didn’t say that he wasn’t going to bust anyone in compliance with state marijuana laws…he said federal and state. Y’all heard what you wanted to hear not what he said.

I have watched the feds as a group…DEA, FBI, IRS, USPS even all come together to start making some differences in what the hell has been going on in the so called “war on drugs.”

First thing I saw in your neighborhood along these lines was “Southern Sweep.” They came and got INFORMATION, in the form of records and computers etc. They sure did get a lot of people from a lot of different agencies to get coordinated. Then they went aways. Then they busted J&J. Now those boys advertised. I’ve read stories about them in TEXAS. Hmmm lets see, they lost a lot of assets but not nearly, I think, as much as they could have. They got six years when mandatory federal guidlines for their charges were more like 10 or 20. The feds don’t pass out “freebies.” More INFORMATION?

Then…hmmm what happens? Humboldt gets a beefed up FBI office AND a federal magistrate. Do you think they just had a few extra dollars laying around and a buddy that wanted to live in Northern California? I can’t quite remember if that was right before or right after RJ and his two buddies got picked up again. What did they get from them? More information if I am correct in the form of computers and such.

Next comes the diesel guy in Redway. Can’t quite remember his name. They got his grows, a couple of his friends and uh, what else? More INFORMATION. They got his computers and records and probably some assets as well. Now its been quite again for a minute.

In my perusal of the news I hear about Project Deliverance. The managed to get 3500 agents, DEA, FBI and god only knows who else to all get then act together in a 22 months investigation and take down a cartel operating in Mexical and 15 or 16 states. How many tons of pot? How many tons of coke, meth and herion? How many guns? What about the cars?

Am I the only one that can see the writing on the wall? Now Obama added money laundering and and trafficking on to compliance with state and FEDERAL laws. Seems to me that in the past 24 months since Southern Sweep that the feds have learned really well how to come together and take out whole GROUPS of people that are not in compliance with these laws.

You all have gotten way to comfortable with what you are doing. You have been advertising way too much and they are paying attention. One think I do know is that the feds do no like it when you raise one hand and say “here I am” and use the other to thumb your nose at them…especially the IRS.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone on either side. I am simply stating what I feel like is the obvious. I am sure HK himself will have his own take on this but I just had to get my two cents worth in. *;* Have A Good Day!

I just can’t get over the waste of resources and tax dollars that goes into actions like this. I mean, arresting a teenager because he offered someone free pot? Now that kid has an arrest record FOREVER. And again, that’s not to mention the time and money needed to “process” his case, and others like his. Courtesy of the taxpayer. It’s borderline insanity.

Following the pattern of Greenfield’s arrest, if/when it’s legalized in CA and comercial grows are set up in compliance with new state law –they will get busted by the Fed.

Suzy, I worry about that. I figure that most will survive though and that the law will be a first step towards repealing a the anti marijuana laws.

Jendocino, that was my first thought. Jeez, the poor kid. The second thought I had was…whoa there must not have been much going on that they had to bust a kid passing a joint around. The drug levels must have been pretty low.
