Chris Giauque, Humboldt’s Paul Bunyan
Chris Giauque was a big man–tall, yes, but, also larger than life. Legends grew up around him like he was Paul Bunyan. One story goes that as officers were taking pickup loads of marijuana away from his property, Chris hopped on his quad and, racing after them, reached into the bed of the truck at high speeds and pulled out pot plant after pot plant while the deputies tried to ignore him because they didn’t want to try prosecuting him.
Chris disappeared in August of 2003 after going to Spy Rock on what was rumored to be a marijuana deal for over $100,000.
Today, his legend just got a little taller. A new blog entitled Chris Giauque Mystery describes the writer’s theory (John Joebee is the name he gives himself) that Chris may have been disappeared in order to keep him from countering Ken Estes claim that Estes was the one who created a unique strain of pot.
The fact that Chris Giauque disappeared at the same time that a certain Strain Called Grandaddy Purple was Suddenly Developed by Ken Estes may be no coincidence.Ken Estes met with Chris Giauque in the Summer of 2003 and Chris had some outstanding purple Medicine. He had a variety of Purples and another Strain that I forget the name of but I remember the Potency and Smell and taste.Chris had these long dreads and he was talking about how happy he was to be out of Jail.He had awesome concentrates and a personality that was inviting and not pretentious.I have no rock solid evidence of any thing I am just saying that a whole bunch of coincidences happened and they may not mean a damn thing. They may have a clue for someone and I hope that’s the case.
