Grow Magazine, Me, and The Sacramento Bee

The last issue of Grow had one of my photos on the front.  I’m proud of that but I’m even more proud that the Sacramento Bee has chosen to feature Grow Magazine and me in their Weed Wars Blog (I’ve been a fan for a few weeks–the blog just started last month– but now they are definitely my favorite  source of marijuana information–they obviously have good taste!) Peter Hecht says,

Amid slick pages and artsy, up-close photography of flowering marijuana buds, Humboldt Grow magazine raises some serious questions.Writer-photographer Kym Kemp examines domestic violence amongst a male-dominated pot-growing culture. Another piece asks whether cultivators want their children to grow up in the family trade.

Founded in Mendocino and Humboldt counties, the bi-monthly magazine of editor and publisher Eric Sligh is among emerging mags proving that print isn’t dead – at least when it comes to covering Golden State weed.

It is all well earned, and well deserved, Kym. Congrats !
Good job on the NCJ article too, by the way. Your name is EVERYWHERE… (and that is a good thing).

Fiance here:

Kym, I have friends in Texas that have been discussing legalization and sent them to your blog for a look see. There were misconceptions in their outlook about SoHum so I thought that your take on the situation was the most fair and well thought out and could best describe the situation for them. Keep up the good work!

I’m glad that my blog helps people see the true Humboldt–bad as well as good. I love this place and I’m lucky to live here.
