Federal Officers Raid SoHum Again

Federal officers headed into so called Buddhaville  today and arrested several individuals. (KMUD and Eric Kirk have stories.)  Robert Juan (also known as Buddha) was one of the people taken into custody. Reports of the raid are scanty as yet but according to KMUD this is a followup to those raids conducted in June of 2008.

Of course they had a raid instead of just picking up the persons of interest. The generation of fear is one of their chief objectives.

Very few comments on any of the threads on this topic. I guess that’s understandable.

Once again the law enforcement folks have spent a huge amount of taxpayer money to make 5 arrests. I.m sure that most could have been arranged through their attorneys.

I wonder if they weren’t hoping to find more evidence of criminal action–ie indoor grows. Maybe the government was hoping that since a year and a half had elapsed, people (desperate for money possibly) would have started indoor grows believing that no one was likely to prosecute.

This had been developing for years. The FBI was looking into some fake contractor (real contractor, fake business) who was dealing with some fake construction businesses doing fake real estate jobs for a real kingpin. They had this pinned down since at least 2006 but had to do all the footwork themselves sending up people from San Francisco. They set up these operations flawlessly except for the whole getting popped on a criminal conspiracy rap thing. Nobody would have ever guessed these people were working together or these little growers were part of a well-funded network.

Small fish quickly obtaining enough capital to form sophisticated multi-million dollar money laundering enterprises. Sounds like alcohol prohibition.

The bail for one of the people taken into custody has been set at 2 million dollars. There is a hearing at 1030am tomorrow at an old post office 2 blocks south of the Humboldt County Jail. That was the description given to me. Agents came into his house and searched for more money and evidence, took him into custody.

Really people. Think about all the good you might do in the world if you focused on something of actual importance.

What is happening in the marijuana world matters a lot to many people in Humboldt because it involves both their livelihood and their culture.

There’s a reason why they let him go in the first time and the second time.. this time they actually wanted him or bail wouldn’t have been set so high. I know their lives are outlandish but it sucks to hear knowing there are more than the adults involved! I hope this time they let Buddha’s daughter go with a family member.
