Yes we felt it. It looks like it’s epicenter was pretty close to us. Our clock read 6:20 so it looks like our clocks are not syncrinized because I don’t think it took 5 minutes to cross the creek.

We felt two sharp thrusts in Benbow. The first one lasted about 3 seconds, followed in a few seconds by another thrust of about three seconds. The vibrations were sharp and straight up and down, no sideways movement. Only caused a few things to rattle, Including the dogs nerves. She immediately went in to “Coon Hunt Mode”.

I woke up to one thump (that I’m aware of). This SoCal born just assumed it was the cat and went back to sleep.

I was working late last night, so I decided to sleep in my glass shop instead of driving home half-asleep…I woke this morning to glass in the display cases shaking around. I knew what was happening. I lay there still, waiting for the motion to get worse before jumping out of bed…heh. It stopped and I fell back asleep.

As if I didn’t have enough on my to do list this week, now I gotta add earthquake-proof the glass studio! At least I got a warning shot. I’d hate to wake to the big kilns laying broken on the ground, not to mention my glass art collection!!! I better get to fixing…

The first few sentences had me worried. I’m glad it was just a “warning shot!”

Thanks for the data kym. Sounds like it was 18 miles under my friends the Mc Bride’s place near Myer’s. It sure woke them. I slept right through it here at Schill Hill.

Didn’t feel anything up here, but at 2.7, I wouldn’t expect to feel it from this far away.

Tell that guy in the photo to get down off that rock. He might fall down and hurt himself.

I didn’t feel a thing in Fortuna.
I like our Earthquakes. The little ones mean the faults are letting off steam which is a good thing.

Swarm is the proper term. Maybe we should lobby for a new term like a Shaker of quakes;>

Whale Gulch fault? Yikes! Look at the Shelter Cove faults! I thought the Russ Fault went to Rio Dell. It was the source of the Ferndale quake. Good map!

Toni, Several news organizations have reported on them but Haiti definitely makes ours look small.
