Nice!… What do you think Kym? Certainly not a Red Tail, pointy wings, was there white on the head? A Peregrine? The only one I ever saw closely was on the loop road above you. It was hovering about 100 feet away and I was thrilled.

ell… On second thought, maybe it is a Red Tail. I see a dim figure on the wings that seems Red Tailish. Just covering all the bases. Love that little hook of beak.

I’m pretty sure it was a red tail because those are the hawks we see most–maybe a juvenile?

Super shot! I myself have a red-tail hawk that hangs about our back deck, but I have yet been able to snap his/her picture. Not particularly cooperative…
