Love this pretty little flower.
Gorgeous things. I saw some on a road exploration a while back, but couldn’t get a decent picture of them. Firecrackers?
We call them Chinese firecrackers here.
This is our:
(formerly Brodiaea coccinea, Brodiaea ida-maia, Brevoortia ida-maia)
It’s a wonderful bulb that requires perfect drainage and will fail every time if you try to move it in the green state, if you must move them, mark them and await August or September. Also it’s best to NOT PICK this flower as it will weaken the rather smallish bulb.
Pernel, Thank you. I love learning about how to treat the wildflowers. Someday I want a large area of my garden devoted to them.
