  • Another incredible photo, Kym !
My site is up–a little glitchy–but up. Thank you so much !

    • What is your blog, Lynette? … Ben woke up the other day with his knee super swollen. Larry Smith told him that he knew all there is to know about Lyme disease but he did give Ben 3 weeks of doxy. For 5 years his feet have hurt so much and one night or two or three his ankle decided to feel sprained in the night for no reason, etc. Various docs wanted to give him neurontin and elavil etc. because three western blot bars are a conclusive negative. Aargh. They are so uneducatable. The biofilm thing is so scary I can hardly read it but I bought some witch hazel just in case. Thanks, Tui

      • Hi Anna,
Eventually I hope to make it a general site about Humboldt County history, but right now it is more focused on this project/writing/obsession I have about a Native American woman that was murdered in Arcata in 1862. I found a copy of the inquest called to investigate her murder and became fascinated with her and what was happening here during that time period.

  • Oh for the wonder of a flower so large I could walk across it!
The grass in the orchard is a whole world of tiny creatures the forest beyond it a universe.
I’m stunned by the depth of life in my world that I wasn’t noticing.
Thanks for the perspective change, I’m grateful.

    • Wouldn’t walking across a poppy be lovely? I’ll bet it would feel wonderful and the color dwould be splendid.

    • hey, that’s really really bueatiful, i like yr childlike wonder and receptivity. BTW did u know this curiosity about the translation of yr name?
Madame H P Blahvatsky wrote in the 19th century of the underlying meaning of the name of the Hunza peoples of the high Himalayas who are known to live to be 120 and be 100% free of cancer. She wrote about how their name relates to the three-in-one idea of the Christian holy trinity, a universal concept found in every religion worldwide including the Native American medicine wheel. Blahvatsky says in her book The Secret Doctrine:

“This word Hunsa or esoterically “humsa” is just such a case. Humsa is equal to a-hum-sa, three words meaning “I am he” (in English), while divided in still another way it will read “So-hum,” “he (is) I” — Sohum being equal to Sah, “he,” and ahum, “I,” or “I am he.” In this alone is contained the universal mystery, the doctrine of the identity of man’s essence with god-essence, for him who understands the language of wisdom.”
