Curve
Colombine with a Curved Neck
Frequent Photo
Sometimes its the blossom–a jester’s hat rocketing away from its owner. Sometimes its the glow of light against the warm green background. Sometimes its the arch of the colombine’s stem — a blushing dragonette shyly bowing her head .
For one or all of those reasons, this photo wouldn’t get tossed even though I know I tend to over-post flower photos. I hope you all like it as much as I do.

First thing I saw was the jester’s hat. Another outstanding photo.
Possibly my favorite flower. Always vibrant. And always in bloom when it is so hot in these hills that it cooks the flower in far too short a time. Nice.
Thanks for sharing the shot.

Is this a wild colombine? I have many different ones in my spring garden but not this one.

Over-post flower pictures? No such thing from you. They are always welcome.
I agree with silverstar — no such thing as over-posting flowers. They’re all good images and this one is no exception. I also like the shape repeated by a second, unopened blossom in the background.
me, too.

Wonderful. Keep an eye out for fungus and mushrooms also, they can be astounding in their odd way.

Positively perfect Kym! What a wonderful image. The first thing it reminded me of was a cobra poised to strike. Our wild columbine has a washed-out look to it, like watermelon. Sometimes a bit darker, but nothing like this one, and not as ornamental either. Keep posting the flower photos Kym, because until I get out to California myself, you are the one I rely on to show me what I’m missing!
