There is a reason that they are called turkeys.

We have a flock of them that hang out in front of our house in Benbow. Usually I have a problem with newcomers, but these birds are such delightful entertainment. They strut around with their wings dragging and fanning their tail feathers. They strut and move their tail feathers for the best view to the competition, then they peek around their tail feathers to see if the other guys are looking. It looks more like a male completion thing than stalking the girls.

It does look like they’ve turned their back on each other in anger but I think Ernie may be right that they are looking to see if their flock members are noticing how cool they are.

They remind me of the Pushme, Pullyou.

I’m glad you didn’t throw it away, too. It makes me laugh. And the main characters are in good focus, the blurry bits aren’t needed for the story.

I think it’s great and I’m not sure why the dof bothers you, Kym. Embrace the dof! A wild turkey is really kind of cool to look at, if you put a bag over it’s head. 😉

I’ve never taken such a good photo of turkeys, treasure it.
