Very nice composition and soft, lovely texture. I just want to bury my nose in this flower, even if it will leave streaks of pollen on my skin! 🙂

Your photos are incredible. I especially love the rich, velvety color of this one.

My sinuses ache looking at this lovely photo. Are you shooting with a new lens because you’re getting some really nice macro shots. I’m jealous :-).

Along with a polarizing filter, a set of close-up filters is one of the cheapest, easiest, most fun things you can add to a camera kit to produce the greatest effect. Macro lenses and bellows are fancier and get you more depth of field, but a kit of +1, +2 and +4 “macro” close-up filters will run you about $40 and takes about 5 minutes to get the hang of.

Getting to be as skilled and charming with the medium as Kym, well, that can take considerable time! ^_^

I love the color in this one, too. A set of macro filters is high on my list of wants. When I get my inheritance.

Well, I keep coming by and admiring your “stuff” , but I seem to have run out of superlatives. I was raised to not drop by someone’s place without leaving a gift, so I just wanted you to know that you are doing better than most. I just don’t have all of the words that I need to have to tell you how much I enjoy your photography. I would be hard-pressed to chose a favorite though.

It’s like a dream, or something soft you would want to lay on that smells nice!

This is really beautiful, Kym. Must be time for flower macros! (I’ve got some, too.)

I think I used this same word in the grape hyacinth photo, but it applies even more to this one: Gorgeous! I love that pure red.

Thanks you all.

Sandi, No new lenses–it’s just springtime and my flowers are blooming.

Sophie, I’d like to try a macro but I don’t even know exactly what they are. Do they fit over your current lenses?

YES! Yes, yes, yes….perfect Kym. This is a beautiful example of how to turn an ordinary flower picture into artwork. The lighting, composition, focus, angle – it all fits to form a wonderful image. It just reaches out and grabs you!

At a loss for words again. Beautiful.

Macro extension tubes go between your lens and the camera body. They are the cheapest way to go macro. Macro lenses would just take the place of your normal lens. They are quite spendy, from what I’ve seen. You can get a set of four macro tubes for about $80.
