A Change in the Early Dawn
Early Dawn
Daily Photo
Before the sun rises, witches cast circles of protection around their homes. I caught the last wisps of this mystic rite encircling an ancient tree. Faintly visible to the left of the tree are the bones of victims.
Capturing this photo gave me enough power to change this blog’s look.
I like the readability and ability to post wider photos. I don’t like the header and the no capitals in titles.[polldaddy poll=1386095]

well so far there’s only two votes but we both like it
I like the wider format. That was one of the few things I didn’t like about switching to WordPress. Good job finding a theme that works.
I will love the wider photos – I hate the no capitals thing. That is just pretentious!
Love the picture! I like the new layout, it’s pretty.
I have the same reservation about no capitals in the titles, but otherwise I like this theme. And I love the photo, another very dream-like image.
Love this photo! I like the new format, too.
The new theme has a kind of corporate feel to it. It’s pretty slick which doesn’t fit the down home vibe you usually have in your photos, stories and comments. Or maybe I’m just not used to it yet. Whatever, it looks great!
BTW – You’ve posted quite a few tree pix lately.
I love your photography ….Thanks ….Brian
Jeez I have no caps in my titles and I am not pretentious [do not throw fruit!].
It is a pretty theme I am not sure it is exactly the right theme for a blog that is in part a photo blog because the squares around the titles feel interrupting photos causes sort of a misalignment of shape feel. But that could be just me.
Wait, correction, the squares around info below the titles is what I meant to say.
Did you try the Monotone theme? Not that you should switch (this one is fine) but Monotone is specifically photo blogging.
Kym, don’t worry about not having capital letters in the titles. This is a creative exercise and as such it falls outside the boundaries of formal English. You can do whatever you want to do and you need to justify it only to yourself.
I think the lower case looks good and even better than the formal English style that would capitalize some of the letters but not others (such as articles).
I have been noticing a trend of blue lately in your photos. It’s my favorite color (both Ruby and I have blue eyes) and I love it. Is there something going on in your life that is leading to all of this beautiful blue?
Nifty!
Easier to read than the previous style.
Like it.
@ max, I do make exceptions for ee cummings, archy and
mehitabelmax.I like this, except I wish it was centered instead of left aligned, but that’s just me. I like this better than the white one you tried out last night. 😉
Awesome capture, Kym. The tones, the lighting, the fog, is gorgeous.
Actually, I think that you should have chosen a creamy colored background, with avocado colored title headers. With a lot of green and blue across the very top of your blog, and called it “Kym’s Place.” Just kidding of course!
I like it a lot, I really do, It feels roomier and more comfortable, and thank-you for the new charcoal background, it adds a subtle touch of class. It displays your photo’s well, plus the whole site is pleasing to the eye. I like the photo that you chose as your background to “Redhead Blackbelt”.
And everything is level…
I love, love, love the photo!
The layout is nice, with my only complaint being how tiny the “comments” link is. But I am old, oh so old now. *sigh*
Kym, your photos have fast become my favorites. This one may just be the best yet.
Thumbs up on the new format, too.
The best thing is that links are in white and turn red when clicked. I can not see the red text against the black background. this is a friendly site for us visual challeged.
OHHHHHHHHHHHH .. I can just picture a series of shots of this tree .. across a long wall. It would be gorgeous.
Like the new layout, btw.
The blog looks outstanding but I come here for the photographs. This picture conveys a chilling mood that I really like.
I really like this one Kym, but I can’t quite decide if it’s spooky, dreamy, or lonely…whatever this image evokes, I like it a lot! Nice capture.
