Moon

full-moon

Nearly Full, Nearly Night

Daily Photo

Last month’s moon shone brighter than any other in 2008 and this month’s moon (known in some Native American lore as the Wolf Moon)  appears larger than any other this year. This photo snapped yesterday caught the nearly full moon just before sunset.  If any of you saw tonight’s moon rise, it was breathtakingly huge. And, Sunday’s moon will be giant, too. Walk outside and let the beauty bring a bit of joy as you watch it rise.

I looked up the name too, and had taken a picture yesterday as well. The name “Old Moon” is charming as well.

Glad to have you back online.

Gorgeous, once again. Unfortunately, our dry weather has not materialized, and so all I see is raindrops.

That’s right, I almost forgot, the biggest moon of the year . . . I’ll hope for some clear weather out here. Good to see you back posting!

This picture is so nice! I watched the moon rise and it was breathtaking. This weather has been a real blessing for those of us who like to watch the sky. I’m so glad you’re back!

When I heard this was going to happen I really wished I had firewood for a bon-fire on the beach. I still haven’t tested out San Francisco’s new, artistic bon-fire pits.
Didn’t know it was called the “Wolf Moon.”

Mmmm… I saw that moon last night from the ocean. Stunning. Thanks for another beautiful photo, Kym!

Super, super composition. I’ve always liked ridgeline silhouettes. That is an amazing photo. The very top clouds are called “Virga”. It’s rain that doesn’t reach the ground. Like good intentions that are never fulfilled. Or like a computer that promises to deliver your wonderful photography but crashes instead.

Everybody likes the Moon. Everybody has a good memory or two about the moon. It is the source of much wonderment throughout history. Have you ever heard of anybody that didn’t like the moon? Great photo!

I’m glad you are back, and this should be a lesson to you. That sideways photo could have very well have been your last post!

I’m so jealous. I missed a couple of beautiful silhouette moon shots the other night. You captured a gorgeous shot and I love how it’s daylight rather than vice versa. Nice to see you back :-).
