What a beautiful hen! Looks like she’s wearing a Spanish mantilla (can’t quite remember if that is the correct word for it).

I think my daughter would prefer the caption to be “Chickens as McNuggets”.

Love this chicken! Her perfectly outlined feathers are so tidy, she’s a little work of art.

I love her color and her mantilla of feathers perfectly edged in black scallops.

As a fishing maniac and fly tier, I can see great potential in those neck feathers. Hmmm… The Zoo you say…

One year I had a wall calendar of all sorts of exotic chickens. They are so amazing to look at, as well as exploit!

That is one exotic looking chicken. And mantilla is the right word, bluelaker.

I’d like a dress like her feathers.

Beautiful bird, great photo as usual. Humboldt has a Poultry Show sometime early spring (I think). I went last year and had a chuckle looking at all the strange birds.

There are some funny ones that look like Dr. Seuss drew them!

Gold Laced Wyandotte, I would guess.

Now that I live here alone, I don’t do the livestock thing anymore, but at one point since we lived up north, we had about 60 chickens and 25 sheep.

here’s an amusing video clip for your theme here…
