A Fitting Complaint

frog“Apparently, madam, you have brought me the wrong pants.”

Daily Photo

A new blog analyzer claims to explain the personality of the blogger.  It apparently did a good job on Heraldo so I thought I’d give it a try.  It says I belong to —

The Doers

The active and play-ful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities. The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.
The disclaimer says, “Writing style on a blog may have little or nothing to do with a person´s self-perceived personality.” Hmm, I don’t think my self perception is skewed that far.  I’m quite sure that sitting in front of the computer feeding my face with homemade cookies does not make one a doer.

Ha. I put our blog into the analyzer as well and we came up as ESFP. We have done the Myers-Briggs profile before and I am a ENFJ and Mark is a ESTP. Hmmm, it seems like our blog is a combination of the two!

ESFP – The Performers

“The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead – they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation – qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

Kym, I am the Doer too, which I’m pretty sure I can make a good argument against. Then I took the other test, a Gender Genie, and found out I write like a man!

So in reality I am a lazy female academic, but I write like a man of action! Talk about alter-egos…

Running around the countryside with a camera slung over your shoulder totally makes you a doer.

Well I put my blog to the test:
They say that I am an “Inveterate Bullshitter” chances are good that I’ll never change.
They say that I never tell a lie, but will stretch the truth so out of shape that it is sometimes unrecognizable.
They say that I have a sincere fondness for interesting and talented people.
They say that I would way rather read a reply than make a post.
They say that I love the flora and fauna of the Eel River Valley.
They say that I love this canyon, and that my love of this canyon is probably genetic, because my family has been here so long.
They say that I not above telling a story for the price of a chuckle.

They say that I don’t proof read my spelling and puntuation enough.

Well, they said I was a doer as well. I’ve taken the Myers Briggs test a couple of times and I am not a doer. Well, maybe a little bit, but if you looked at my messy home you would definitely know I am not a doer. I am a procrastinator.

They said I was a performer.

Well, OK, a lot of it is me, but I also spent a lot of time in management positions. And I initiated a lot of confrontations. I just play nice on my blog.

When I did Ernie, I thought he came back as a Performer. Maybe I’m remembering wrong?

Fred, I think Performer and “Inveterate Bullshitter” are the same.

Silverstar, Aha, now you have confessed the real you. You’ll have to let her have a chance on your blog.

Toni, Me too, I’m a procrastinator and a dreamer.

Ernie, I like to make my own responses to Max’s quizzes, too. I like them better and I like yours better, too.

Max, sticking my nose out the door and taking a few pics is hardly a wild adventure.

Indie, Okay, I’m going to have to try that gender quiz because when you first started responding on other people’s posts (or at least when I first noticed) I thought you were a man. Yet, your site is one of the most richly feminine and attractive I’ve seen.

TJ, my husband once took that test as part of a management thing. I’ll have to ask him how he did. I wonder if I could get him to post….nayah, never happen. You’re lucky.

Perhaps we were separated at birth, because your response sounds like you were describing ME! =:-o

Some blogs got a really accurate review but mine and (from what I remember of you) yours are abit off. I wonder though if we are projecting another persona in our blogs. Nahhh!

A socializer–They tend to be traditional and value their friends and family the most. That sounds like her. I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday!

So I took this finally and it says I am :

ESFP – The Performers

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don’t like to plan ahead – they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

They enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation – qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

Hmm. A lot of that is actually accurate.

LOL, I got the same as Max.
Max is my quiz twin.

Hey Kym, hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving.

I think the one place it missed was the ability to initiate confrontations. I am pretty good at that in a leadership role related to writing. Where I fall down completely is in interpersonal relationships those blow me out of the water on the confrontation front.
