Fuchsia, the Erotic Flower
Passion
Daily Photo
Unfolding, a fuchsia, explodes into passionate pinks and purples.
These are some of the most sensuous looking flowers ever to arch delicate petals and open to the humming mouths of bees and other winged creatures.
They don’t much care for the harsh summers and winters here in the Southern Humboldt hills and every year I slaughter an innocent victim or two on the altar of my desire to possess these beauties.

I love fuschias. To me, they remind me of my childhood spent over at my grandma’s house. She had a ton of fuschia bushes and my brother and I would spend hours using my dad’s tools on the bushes and popping the blossoms. I still can’t help but give a closed big blossom a hearty squeeze!
Aha, flower sadist!
I want to know how you got the black background. Did you do it like she did?
If you ever travel out of country, I suggest you go to Victoria, BC, and visit the Butchart Gardens. Fucshias love that country, and they have every color imaginable.

Hmmm, why won’t that post? Try again. Butchart Gardens
Ha Kym! That would be me :-). I just never knew there was an official title for it!
Reminds me of some sort of weirdly coloured octopus…no….squid!
Silverstar, I don’t remember how I did it. I’ve been trying to remember. When I read Forkboy’s explanations I’m always wowed. I want to do that but I photograph by feel, by emotion–not with any actual understanding of what I’m doing.
I don’t know why but that link, Silverstar, made you go into spam. But you’ve been despamed. Thanks for the link but when I try to access it my browser shuts down.
