I second Jen, I love Iris. My grandmother had a huge patch of iris in her yard, which she tended with the devotion you would give a goddess. She belonged to a garden club, and they traded rhizomes about. She had every color you can imagine, and knew the name of every one of them.
I’m so jealous of your yard. My chickens have discovered all the tender young shoots of my bulb garden and I fear that I will never have iris or daffodils again! This pic is gorgeous. I’m partial to the iris and love the name, due to my Grandma Iris :-).
Beautiful shot! I particularly like the green of the stocks and leaves behind it.
My two year old son just learned the word “Iris” on a walk yesterday. He now knows and can point out, Irises, daffodils, buttercups, sea roses and johnny jumpups!

I love Iris, wild or otherwise.
Great shot. It has undertones of a very pretty supernova to it.

I love wild iris, too.
